* * * INSIGHT * * * Eight Most Common Mistakes in Lyophilization by Thomas A. Jennings, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: Lyophilization is indeed a very complex process and to the unwary it is not difficult to fall into one of its many pitfalls. In this INSIGHT I thought it appropriate if I were to list for you what I consider to be the eight most common mistakes made with regards to this process, it’s equipment and associated instrumentation. Many of these mistakes are considered in one form or another in my book Lyophilization - Introduction and Basic Principles. They are not listed in any particular order and thus any one of them can represent a problem area. This list is not to be all and inclusive, but merely one person’s opinion as to those areas of greatest concern. If you feel that another area(s) should be included please inform me at jennings@phase-technologies.com.
