* * * INSIGHT * * * Validation Part 1B - Primary Drying Process By Thomas A. Jennings, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: As we continue our story (see Part 1A), it is two months later and we find the Novice sitting alone in Armando’s office. It is a few minutes before 8:00 a.m. and the Novice is waiting to hear Armando’s quick steps on the tile floor that would signal his approach to the office. He does not have to wait long before a rather haggard looking Armando enters the office and throws his brief case on the desk and slams the door shut. It is easy for the Novice to sense that his supervisor is not in the best of moods. His remarks are “Here I am trying my best to be on time and I get in back of someone on the expressway who has all the time in the world. Even the school buses in the other lanes were passing us like we were standing still and I can tell you right now that blowing your horn at someone like that simply does no good at all!” With this statement, Armando takes is usual seat behind his desk and removes a document from a desk drawer. Trying his best to soothe, the Novice inquires, “How slow were you going?” “Just 70 mph! Would you believe how stupid some drivers can be?” was the response. “But enough of that, I still have my on-time record in tact so lets get on with today’s business - your first monthly project report.” As he picks up the document he continues with, “If weight is any judge, then this must be classified as a real winner. I didn’t read all 56 pages so perhaps you can just fill me in on the important details.” Volume 2 Number 5 May 1999 10 Pages 3 References No Figures [How to obtain a complete copy this INSIGHT] [Return to Phase Home Page] |
